Lauren Shahroody was born and raised in the Bay Area of Northern California with a penchant for life, color and love.  Through her travels and artistic soul searching, her best way of describing herself is as a collage.  Her family has a huge influence on her life as an artist and only in the most positive of ways.   

Lauren received her Bachelors in Fine Arts at the California College of Arts and Crafts in San Francisco, California.  Her major there was illustration and she embraced her studies by applying her skills in editorial, narrative and design careers.  From there she uprooted from her known suburban landscape and ventured out east.  There she spent two years studying illustration and design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  At the end  of that time she received her Masters in Fine Arts in the program Illustration as Visual Essay.   

The incredible impact that the two coasts of this country have had on Lauren has found its way intertwining within her mixed mediums of color, texture and type that she calls her art.
